Phil Shackleton is taking on an extraordinary solo challenge – the entire 2026 Tour de France route, every stage and every transfer, ridden completely unsupported.
He’ll ride every kilometre of the race, plus the long stretches in between, carrying everything he needs and resting where the road allows.
No team cars. No mechanics. No outside support. Just one rider, alone against the Tour, to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
This challenge is deeply personal.
In 2025, Phil lost his mum to dementia. Watching her world slowly close in was devastating, and like so many families, he felt powerless to stop it.
This ride is his way of turning that loss into purpose.
Phil’s mum was his quiet inspiration – strong, kind, and endlessly supportive. Now, every kilometre he rides is in her memory, and for every family affected by this disease.
By supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK, Phil is helping fund the breakthroughs that could change the future for millions.
The Tour de France is the most iconic race in cycling. Professional riders take it on as part of elite teams, backed by full support crews.
Phil will do it alone.
Carrying everything he needs, sourcing his own food, and resting wherever the road allows, he will follow the same route as the peloton – aiming to reach Paris before they do.
This is not about racing.
It’s about resilience, endurance, and purpose.
Start: Barcelona, 30th June 2026
Finish: Paris (aiming to finish 24th July 2026)
Along the way, Phil will share the journey in real time, with daily video updates and live tracking, giving audiences an unfiltered look at the highs, lows, and reality of the road.
